“Hi, I’m Wendy…”
As a Certified Divorce Coach, I am honored to help those considering, experiencing, or emerging from divorce. Together, my clients and I forge a path forward to better, brighter days for themselves and their families, including new traditions, rituals, and systems.
I do this because I’ve been through it myself. I spent a lot of years too unhappy to stay and too afraid to leave. Keeping a close eye on my kids and a steady hold on Jewish values, I made it to the other side, feeling luckier than ever.
Let me say up front:
I don’t promote divorce. It’s never one’s first choice. It’s always the last choice. Often, though, it’s the best choice.
What I do promote is a good divorce—one that serves the entire family and allows everyone to thrive.
As I tell my clients, a happier, more fulfilling life is not only within reach. It’s within you.
I love community. Through marriage, children, and most especially through life’s toughest transitions, community nourishes us. As one who has been personally supported by those around me, it is with gratitude that I give back. I currently serve as Board President of JVS, a workforce development nonprofit in San Francisco, board member of the New York-based JewBelong, and a member of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco’s Endowment Committee. I was also honored to be selected a Wexner Heritage Fellow (San Francisco ‘14) .
Previously, I was Executive Producer of Morning News at KGO-TV, Chair of the Board of the Contemporary Jewish Museum, and Secretary of the Board of the Perlman Music Program, Itzhak Perlman’s training and mentoring program for young musicians of rare and special talent.
I grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, graduated magna cum laude from Brown University, then moved to California for an art history PhD at UC Berkeley. When I’m not humbled by my teenaged twins, I’m reading the news, wrestling down a pile of New Yorker magazines, tracking national politics and loyally following pro sports. You can often find me at corner lemonade stands and dog parks with my pups Charlie and Lucy.
